Coming soon…

I totally fell in love with this couple during this session, and how could you not. They are so easy going, happy and friendly….not to mention fellow East Coasters 😉

Allison made these little sign props herself and color coordinated themselves perfectly! I had so much fun during this shoot as they really allowed me full creativity and were open and happy to do whatever. Nick may take the award for most cooperative male haha he was awesome.

Well enough writting lets let the photos speak for themselves….I cannot wait to work with these two again and meet their little one <3

Can I just start off by saying its extremely daunting doing photos for a friend…especially when that friend is also a fellow photographer?? haha Lana was great, she didn’t actually make me nervous at all during the shoot…she gave me ideas she had and allowed me to execute them. It turned out to be a great evening…laughs, giggles and love with this family. Love this little family <3

So every once and a while a I find myself with these so called “amazing ideas” lol. The latest was that I wanted to make my own maternity dresses so I had something a tad original in the sense that I could pick out the fabric and such myself. Oh boy! Unless its a straight hem I never sew….red flag #1. No pattern…red flag #2 not even sure a maternity measurement….red flag #3 hahaha you get the point. BUT I went on with it anyways. I fell in love with this gorgeous rosette blush chiffon and just knew it was what I was going to use. I also wanted to put a slightly different look on it with a gather so it made it a little bit grecian style 🙂

Ok so I had the bones of it put together but need to test drive my prototype haha. Thats where Casey comes into play. I ran into Casey one day while taking our children into pre school. Having known each other a little bit I didnt hesitate to ask. Little did I know she had just had maternity’s done lol BUT she was so willing to come play my model. This should have been her red flag #1 hahaha. Well she came and I had to play with where I wanted the end fastening of the dress to be and as I was safety pinning things into place so I knew where to finalize my sewing she didnt skip a beat helping hold tucks and gathers the whole time haha. Such a trooper. Well we played around so I could see how they photographed and if they moved well and were comfortable for someone to actually wear during a session…..lets just say I fell in love with the very first click!!

No worries I wont be giving up my day job anytime soon haha. Big thank you to my test subject and her gorgeous baby bump…Casey <3

There isnt much to say about this awesome family that these pics wont tell themselves. They showed up all smiles and energetic and the boys were a riot!! They were so laid back and go with the flow it felt more like a hang out and visit at the river than it did work. Didnt hurt that they are fellow east coasters either 😉

Meet the Clarke Family and show them some love <3

I was so excited and nervous for this session. I have always said I wanted to be able to grow with my clients but I really don’t do much newborns. This is baby Lennon, I did his gorgeous mamas maternity session not too long ago which can be seen here. He came out to visit on a very warm day in early september at just 5 days old!!! He was so precious I couldnt get enough of him.

We incorporated a pair of little shoes that were his daddys when his daddy was little too. Also there was one other super special touch to these photos. Darin and Janelle lost their beloved german shepherd Hank not too long ago. They told me stories of how hank was extra careful and protective with Janelle while she was pregnant. Before Hank had a chance to see what he was guarding he passed away. It was a very sad moment for this family. Darin’s niece however was determined that “hank” would be a part of this baby’s life and searched high and low for a suitable replacement to watch over baby Lennon. She found this cute stuffed german shepherd and aptly named him HANK as you can even see on his little tag. Such a sweet gesture and so special.

Here is 5 day old Lennon <3

This is the Hansen Family!!! Full of fun, laughter and joy. I truly loved my time with this family as they are so easy to be around. I had the kids showing me all their animals and things and I enjoyed picking Hetaher’s brain on her gardening. My hubby even tagged along on this shoot to visit a little afterwards lol. This is one of those families you wish was your neighbour!! True delight to spend an evening photographing you all and cannot wait till next time 🙂

2013 has been a year of huge growth for me in my business and art. I set some extremely high goals for myself, some of which I have met and some of which I am still working towards.

One of my goals was to become a featured photographer. In a very short time I achieved this several times. I have had a photo session featured on evoking you, as well as an interview and some wedding photos featured on SnapKnot which is a bridal forum as well as 2 more features set to be released in October one on Two Bright Lights and the other on Intimate Weddings. The first evoking you feature is of my clients Nick & Lauren and can be seen here:

The second which is the interview with SnapKnot can be seen here:

FINALLY my latest BIG news is in my boudoir area of photography. I have worked very hard this last year growing and achieving my goal to be a professional boudoir photographer. I looked up to so many photographers in the boudoir industry and recently applied to be accepted into the Association of International Boudoir Photographers. Not only was I accepted, I received second highest recognition with their Pro status badge!!! I am beyond elated to be recognized by those I looked up to and welcomed into the industry. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for Alisha Guild Photography!!!

With all of this being said. Please know your photo sessions are so much more to me than just a job, I take them seriously and only see myself growing bigger and better than I am now. Also with all these changes comes a slight pricing restructure. I was not doing any of you justice by not providing product. I know myself when I get my disc it usually ends up gathering dust on my desk 🙁 I want you to love your photos! I want you to see them every day and smile and you cannot do this by looking at a disc 😉

Next dream??? Destination wedding!!!! (anywhere not local lol)
