Coming soon…

I have known Sean and Ashley for years, after meeting through a mutual friend. So of course I was honored when they asked me to photograph their intimate country wedding, held at a friend’s farm in Fort St. John. It seemed only fitting that their ceremony included horse drawn covered wagons, cowboy boots and wheat grass. The rustic feel of their wedding was complimented by the handmade elements that Sean and Ashley created themselves, including the benches and tables for their guests. They even said “I Do” under a gorgeous alter they built themselves. Ashley and Sean’s three sons, Aiden, Jaxon and Tucker were absolutely adorable in their red suspenders and cowboy boots. Ashley was a gorgeous bride, and we were able to get some shots of her with her groom around the farm. Their love for one another is obvious, and makes everyone around them smile.

And once the party started, the barn doors were drawn providing the perfect frame against a backdrop of twinkle lights. It was truly magical, a beautiful gathering of family and close friends to celebrate Sean and Ashley.

I have never been as surprised at a wedding as I was when I realized that the beautiful song Ashley was walking down the aisle to was being sung by Ashley herself. Being escorted down the aisle by her sons, Ashley sang Feels Like Home. It was so moving that it literally took my breathe away and I almost forgot to keep taking pictures! And it moved her groom to tears. Because of this, I knew that I had to do something special to share the images from Sean and Ashley’s wedding. So please enjoy some of my favorite images from Sean and Ashley’s day to the song, Feels Like Home. Don’t forget to share some love with the newlyweds and leave a comment!

Being in front of my camera doesn’t come easily for everyone. Hunter, however, is a natural in front of the camera. She is not intimidated by the camera but is at ease, naturally flowing into each pose. I first met Hunter at the beginning of her Senior year of high school for her Senior Session. Hunter is a classic beauty, but what makes her the perfect photography subject is that her personality shines through in the images. You can feel her sweetness and her self-confidence.

We decided to do another session after she graduated. Not only were we able to capture her excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead in her life, but we were able to take advantage of the gorgeous gown she wore to her Senior Prom. Take a trip out to the country, throw in a vintage pickup with just the right amount of love, an old barn and a log building on a slightly overcast day, and you have perfection. Enjoy some of my favorites from Hunter’s session!

I first met Ani & Brennen back in the fall of last year. I had shot some family photos of them. Their very first photos together professionally 🙂 Ani and I clicked immediately. Since this shoot we have become great friends. I was soooo excited when Ani announced she would need to book maternity photos with me!!! I knew the place had to be as unique, beautiful and soft as her and her personality. Friend found me this location and made arrangements for me to use it. I knew this was exactly the place to shoot their maternity session.  I fall in love with this session every time I look at it. This barn had an etching in it of 1902! I am willing to bet it has seen so much life and love inside those hand built walls….it was fitting to show it some more new life and love <3

Leave them some comments if you love it too….meet Ani & Brennen

I first met mandy at the bridal show in Grand Prairie. Her and her fiancé Barret then came up to Farmington, just outside Dawson Creek for their engagement shoot. Of course like any future bride Mandy was prepping me for Barret not being a huge fan of the photo session BUT I say these two nailed it. They were able to be with one another like I wasn’t even there. These images are truly like I was capturing moments not at all creating them <3

I cannot wait to be a part of their fall wedding.

Enjoy and leave some love below……Mandy & Barret

I am so excited to announce that we will be doing heirloom bridal portraits. So many women have that mom who has hung onto their wedding dress with the dreams and hopes of their little girl growing up to wear it one day. While these dresses are full of sentiment, stories, memories and love…..they may not be what best reflects their daughter the modern brides image of herself on her day.

Much like our mothers did we want that excitement of connecting with the dress we wear, having that moment of “this is it, this is the dress” and ultimately “saying yes to the dress” lol much thanks to TLC. There is however a way to honour your mother/grandmother by considering an heirloom bridal portrait session. This is a session where we dress you in the saved dress and do you hair and makeup. This bridges the vintage dress with a modern look.

Think “vintage couture”.

I couldn’t think of a more special way to honour our mothers and grandmothers who have set precedent, taught us what love is and how to love and be loved than by giving them this gift. Its something they can treasure forever. Commemorative pictures of their baby girl in the dress they so long dreamed of seeing them in. Gift them an album on your day of you in their dress….and wear your new one on your special day.

Something old, something new.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me. Lets make our mothers and grandmothers dreams come true if only for a moment, and ill capture that moment forever for THEM <3

Some of you may recognize Steve and Jen from their engagement photos which if you missed them can be seen by clicking “here”.  They are such a fun couple. I have had the extreme joy and pleasure of working with them several times and know this won’t be my last.

It was cold for sure, but that did not stop us all. The formals shown here were taken in Dunvegan park outside Fairview Alberta. It this adorable little heritage park with some of cutest old buildings and its set perfectly along the river. Steve and Jenn were that couple up for almost anything. Jenn didn’t even bat an eye when I asked to sit her in a tree lol….we laughed and laughed some more during this session, the smiles were not ever needed to be forced or faked by any. I seriously went home sore from laughing. I loved the pop of colour in the bridesmaid dresses and the groomsmen offset them perfectly. Jenn chose a stunning shall to help combat the cold which complimented her and her dress perfectly.

I cannot wait to work with this couple again soon. Much love and congratulations on their day.

I first met Lee & Jenica a little over a year ago when I shot their engagement photos. From the first few minutes I could tell it would be a fun session….cold but fun lol. Their wedding day proved to be no different. I was absolutely thrilled when Jenica asked me to be a part of their special day. We didn’t wait long to meet and go over some details. We spent the following months texting, sending pics via pinterest boards planning the days photos.

Those who are familiar with northern BC winters know we get long, cold snowy winters. Why would this day be any different?? Well it wasn’t lol. We don’t get long days and its dark by 4, so it doesn’t leave a lot of time between ceremony and reception to get formals done. This is where I was so extremely happy to enlist my friend and fellow photographer Danica with Danica G Photography as my second shooter. With Danica’s experience and having worked together previously it enabled us to split up and tackle parts of the formals to get them done faster maximizing the little daylight we had left as well as getting back into a warm vehicle lol.

You will see so many little touches through their day from the personalized hoodies for the girls, bridal party personalized mason jars, matching hunter boots for the ladies, personalized wine labels etc. I couldn’t have asked for a more fun way to ring in the new year than to spend it with this couple and working with a good friend 🙂

Please take a few moments to scroll through and enjoy these images as much as myself and Danica did taking them.

BRRRRR it was soooo cold. Doesnt look like it but that slight breeze was killer lol (notice the FEELS like -26c)

LOVE this shot Danica grabbed me. She was so helpful to have with the details 🙂 Nothing better than a great second shooter that you can trust whole heartedly!!

Love the look but the first pic was an accident haha I exhaled and the fog of my breath in the cold created this really cool haze effect 🙂

Such a sweet moment trying to warm her hands up <3
